Audi Collision Repair Network

I-CAR Live, Online Training, and Qualification Tests are a required part of the Audi Collision Repair Network in the United States. Two technicians from each Audi approved repair facility will be required to complete these I-CAR training programs as part of their Audi certification.

By utilizing the search function and entering in their ZIP/Postal code, Audi technicians can search for programs specific to the Audi and I-CAR training relationship.

Audi requires the following I-CAR training programs as part of the Audi Collision Repair Network.

Refinish Technician

If the refinishing training is not available from the approved refinish manufacturer, I-CAR training may be accepted as a substitute.

Aluminum welding and body and structural repair training for the all-aluminum Audi A8 is taking place at the I-CAR Tech Centre in Appleton, Wisconsin. Through this relationship between I-CAR and Audi, the two-week Audi A8 training program is now available in North America. Previous to this relationship all participants were required to travel to Germany for A8 welding and structural training.

To prepare for the program, I-CAR Tech Centre Trainers attended a train-the-trainer program conducted by Audi in Neckarsulm, Germany.

Using the train-the-trainer materials received in Germany, the Tech Centre staff customized the two-week Audi A8 program for North American delivery. During the first week, participants will learn about Audi aluminum welding technology. They will then prepare and test for the TÜV Aluminum Welding Certification. Week two consists of Audi A8 Body and Structural Repair, which covers A8 design and construction, damage analysis, structural repair guidelines, riveting and adhesive repairs, cosmetic panel repairs, and a discussion of mechanical and restraint systems. To offer the best learning environment, a complete Audi A8 repair bay has been installed at the I-CAR Tech Centre just for the training program.

Each of the two-week training programs allow six students per session with extensive "hands-on" exercises. Only students from pre-approved Audi repair facilities are able to attend this training program at the I-CAR Tech Centre.

For more information regarding the I-CAR and Audi A8 training relationship, please contact Mark Kadrovach at Audi, who oversees the A8 development.
