Identify whether a vehicle is equipped with various advanced vehicle systems
Understand how specific features are designed to operate and how they are integrated with other vehicle systems
Determine if a system is operating properly during the damage analysis process
Module 1 – Stability Control and Automatic Braking Systems
This module provides an overview of the course objectives and identifies several types of advanced safety systems available on today’s vehicles. Information is offered that describes electronic stability control systems, rollover protection, hill start assist, as well as other safety systems.
Module 2 – Driving Assist Safety Systems
The course continues with a look at systems such as blind spot detection, parking assist, cross-traffic alert, and includes video demonstrations of these systems.
Module 3 – Vision Assist and Advanced Restraint Systems
In the third module of the course the student will learn about lighting systems designed to provide improved vision assistance, as well as advancements in passive restraint systems.
Module 4 – Convenience Systems
The course concludes with a look at systems such as passive keyless entry, push-button start, and other systems that are becoming popular as conveniences to the vehicle owner.
