Module 1 – The Automotive Recycling Industry
This module provides information about today’s recycled parts industry and the benefits of recycling automotive parts. The student is introduced to several industry organizations and position statements from different collision industry segments. Additional topics include considerations for using recycled parts and effective recycled parts ordering.
Module 2 – Processing Recycled Parts
Students continue with a look into the operation of a recycled parts facility including vehicle acquisition, disassembly, and parts grading. The latest developments in recycling parts are also covered, including Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS), aluminum parts, and other materials.
Module 3 – Recycled Parts and Installation Considerations
The course concludes by examining procedures for inspecting recycled parts at the collision repair facility and preparing them for installation.
